«I don't think that money should be a motivation for protecting the state,» Kim said about salaries in the Armed Forces

Vitalii Kim, the head of Mykolayiv RMA, believes that the state should, if possible, provide the military with decent material compensation for their work, but he is sure that money is not a motivation for those who defend their country.

He said this in the interview «We are Ukraine», commenting on the salaries of the military, NikVesti writes.

«There are cases when guys use the money they are paid to buy equipment and repair equipment, and live on it. Because they live for one day: if I survive, everything is fine. And there are those who lie in the trenches and say: «I calculated that I have so much per day, so much per hour». The soldier is sleeping, the service is going on,» said Vitalii Kim.

The head of the RMA added that money should not be the main motivation for protecting the state.

«I do not believe that money should be the motivation for protecting the state. This should be a compensator, if we have such an opportunity. But an army that fought for money never won an army that fought for its independence,» he added.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Defense signed a cooperation agreement with the Work.ua company as part of the project on recruiting for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Information about open vacancies in the army will appear on the job search site.

It was previously reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, about 33,000 residents of the Mykolaiv region have mobilized to the Armed Forces.
