Deputies are offered to approve a ₴43 million loan for new equipment for Mykolaiv Parks: what exactly

The deputies of the city council are offered to approve a loan for the utility company «Mykolaiv Parks» for the purchase of specialized equipment that will be used for winter and summer cleaning of the city.

The relevant project of the decision is published on the website of the Mykolaiv City Council, they write NikVesti. Its deputies should consider the next session of the city council, which will be held on September 26.

The amount of credit that a utility company can be allowed to take is 43 million hryvnias. This is only 40% of the total cost of the equipment, which is 1 million euros. The other 60% will be financed by Denmark.

In total, the company plans to borrow four EGHOLM multifunctional machines with a filtration system and brushes, as well as seven units of attached equipment: one hydraulic steel brush for weeds, two snow brushes, two disk sand-salt spreaders and two universal tipper trailers.

The company appealed to the city council with a request to give consent to conclude a credit agreement within the framework of the state program «Affordable loans 5-7-9%». The interest rate on the loan during the first two years will be 1% per annum, and from the third year it will increase to 5% per annum. Repayment of the loan is planned to be carried out monthly, with the possibility of early repayment.

How does Mykolaiv Parks work?

Financing of the Mykolaiv Parks utility company has grown significantly over the past five years, from 8.6 million hryvnias in 2020 to 167.2 million hryvnias in 2023. This year's budget of the enterprise is 144 million hryvnias, which is slightly less than in the previous year.

At the same time, as of August 2024, the utility company has 262 full-time employees. This is six times more than in 2021, when this indicator was 39 people. However, the company still needs about 400 full-time employees, said director Dmytro Chuchmai.

In July 2024, NikVesti published a video of communal workers «mowing» dust in the center of Mykolaiv in 40-degree heat. After that, the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks reacted to this publication. They explained that on the Cathedral, the workers used a trimmer to rake leaves and mow the grass, if there was any.

KP Mykolaiv Parks also plan to take a loan of up to 43 million hryvnias for updating special equipment that will be used for winter and summer cleaning of the city. And in general, the value of the company's fleet is estimated at 35 million hryvnias.
