Ukraine received one billion dollars from the United States, secured by proceeds from frozen Russian assets.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on December 24.

«This is the first tranche of the planned $20 billion that the United States is ready to allocate through the use of frozen Russian assets within the framework of the G7» initiative, the report says.

Recall that Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that Ukraine will begin receiving the first $50 billion in frozen Russian assets in 2025. He noted that these funds will become part of international efforts to compensate for the losses caused by Russian aggression.

It was previously reported that the European Union plans to provide Ukraine with 1.5 billion euros each month from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets starting in January 2025.
