Russian funds blocked in Western countries

Frozen assets are Russian state funds blocked in the EU, the UK, the US and other countries. Ukraine receives money from the proceeds of these assets: €1bn tranches from the EU under the ERA initiative, $1bn from the US and $1.7bn from Canada. Belgium blocked a €140bn reparations loan in October 2025, and in September 2026 a group of 122 MEPs called for talks to resume.

MykVisti covers the tranches, government positions and EU disputes over handing these funds to Ukraine.
