Ukraine receives second tranche of frozen Russian assets from the EU

Ukraine has received one billion euros from the European Union from frozen Russian assets as part of the ERA (Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration) initiative.
According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the funds will be used for priority state budget expenditures.
«This is the second tranche from the EU, secured by the proceeds of frozen Russian assets. The funds will be used for priority state budget expenditures. In total, at the initiative of the G7, European partners have already provided Ukraine with four billion euros», the Prime Minister said.
As a reminder, Ukraine has received a tranche of C$2.5 billion ($1.7 billion) from Canada from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets under the G7 ERA initiative.
