«The communities have already felt it themselves,» the command informed about the activation of Russian drones in front of the Kinburn Spit

The occupiers have greatly reduced the use of guided aerial bombs, but have increased the use of drones, particularly in front of Kinburn Spit.

Nataliia Humeniuk, the speaker of the Defense Forces of the South, informed about this on the air of the Yedyni Novyny telethon, NikVesti writes.

«The first thing that significantly eased the life of the Kherson region and other front-line territories was a critical reduction in the use of guided aerial bombs. In particular, in our area of responsibility, after the shooting down of tactical aircraft, we did not record the use of guided aerial bombs,» she said.

Instead, she noted that the occupiers are trying to compensate with artillery fire, the use of multiple rocket launchers and increased use of drones. In particular, she says, the «South» command recorded the activation of drones in front of the Kinburn spit.

«The communities of Mykolaiv Oblast — Kutsurub and Ochakiv — have already felt the intensification of enemy drones,» Nataliia Humeniuk added.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the territory of the Kinburn Spit has been occupied by the Russian military. Actually, the Russians have been shelling Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities of the Mykolaiv region for almost two years from there. Ukrainian journalists have identified the leaders of the «Don» brigade, which is shelling Ochakiv from the Kinburn spit.

During the entire period of occupation, forests on the Kinburn spit occasionally burned. The situation is usually complicated by the fact that the Russian occupiers did not allow rescuers to put out the fire, so fires can last for weeks. At the same time, as noted in RMA, Mykolaiv Oblast cannot help extinguish fires there, as all fire departments and equipment that can get there are located in the occupied territories of Kherson Oblast.

The red book orchids, other unique plants and animals were under threat because of the fires in Kinburn, reported the ombudsman Liudmyla Denisova.
