Odesa region is in the top three in terms of the number of road accidents in 2024, Mykolaiv region is in seventh place

Odesa region entered the top three regions with the highest number of road accidents in 2024. The region took third place with 1,148 accidents.

This is stated in analytics from Opendatabot.

As a result of these road accidents, almost 2,000 people died, and almost 21,000 more were injured. The number of accidents in Odesa region increased by 40% compared to the same period last year. The number of dead increased by 70%.

The most accidents were recorded this year in Kyiv (1,393), and in Dnipropetrovsk region — 1,350 road accidents. Compared to last year, the number of road accidents in Ukraine increased by 11%, reaching 16,621 accidents with victims since the beginning of the year.

Mykolayiv region, on the other hand, entered the 10 most dangerous regions, taking seventh place in terms of the number of accidents. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 579 road accidents with victims in the region.

We will remind, on October 6, on the highway M-14 «Odesa — Melitopol — Novoazovsk» near the village of Polovynky, Mykolayiv district, there was a traffic accident involving Audi Q7 and Kia cars. As a result of the accident, the 50-year-old passenger of the Kia passenger car died, the 36-year-old driver and the 34-year-old passenger of the Kia, as well as the 66-year-old passenger of the Audi Q7 were taken to the hospital with injuries.
