The police detained suspects in the arson of an electric substation in Odesa

In Odesa, the police detained two men who are suspected of setting fire to an electric substation. They face up to 10 years in prison.
This was reported in the communication department of the National Police Department in the Odesa region.
According to law enforcement officers, the perpetrators poured flammable liquid and set fire to an electrical substation in the Khadzhybeiskyi district of the city. Investigators found out that a 40-year-old man, who found an ad about earning money on the Internet, received an arson order from an unknown person. He involved his 34-year-old friend in the crime, and together they filmed the arson on video, which was supposed to serve as evidence for the customer. However, they never received the promised payment.
In the course of investigative measures, investigators seized the remains of a plastic bottle from under the fuel and lubricants, lighters, mobile phones with information about arson, clothes and other things from the place of the incident and from the residences of the detainees.
The law enforcement officers noted that the suspects were informed of the suspicion under Article 194-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for a penalty of up to ten years of imprisonment for intentional damage to an electricity facility.
In addition, the police are working to establish the full circumstances of the crime and are checking suspects for possible involvement in similar crimes.
Earlier, law enforcement officers exposed a group of Ukrainians who are suspected of organizing arson of shopping centers on the territory of the European Union at the behest of the Russian Federation. The organizer and his accomplice face life imprisonment.
It will be recalled that the law enforcement officers detained a man who is suspected of preparing a series of arsons at the strategic facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia in Kyiv. He faces life imprisonment.
In addition, unknown persons set fire to a car of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Dnipro.
