Over the past three months, Ukraine has recorded more than 120 cases of Russian missiles or drones flying over or near nuclear facilities, posing a threat to these facilities.
This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko on Channel 24.
«Over the past 3 months, missile and drone routes have come closer to nuclear plants, creating a real danger of strikes on nuclear facilities. There have been more than 120 recorded cases of missiles or drones flying over or near nuclear plants,» he said.
In addition, Halushchenko noted that previously the main threat was drones, but now Russia is increasingly using more expensive missiles.
The Minister of Energy emphasized that Ukraine is strengthening the protection of energy facilities and emphasized the importance of coordinating actions between the IAEA and the EU to ensure the stable operation of the agency's monitoring missions at substations.
As a reminder, in early December, the IAEA reported that in one week, 17 drones flew within three kilometers of the South Ukraine NPP.
