Over the past two days, Kherson police evacuated eight wounded civilians and one man with limited mobility from the frontline town of Beryslav. Two men who were seriously injured died on the way to the hospital.
According to the National Police, Russian troops targeted civilians. People were fired upon when they went out into the yard or simply moved through the streets.
«Such actions indicate that the enemy is deliberately exterminating the civilian population of the city. Evacuation flights took place in extremely dangerous conditions and in the shortest possible time. The lives of the wounded depended on the speed and precision of the police officers' actions», the statement said.
All evacuees received first aid. They had open wounds, shrapnel injuries, broken limbs and significant blood loss. The victims were taken by an armoured vehicle to a team of doctors. Two of the men could not be saved.
The police call on residents of the settlements under constant shelling to evacuate to safer places. For assistance, you can contact local police units, call 102, local authorities or volunteers. For more information on evacuation, please contact «or the hotline» of the Kherson Regional Military Administration: 0800 33 09 51.
