The acting chief medical officer of the «Oleshky District Hospital» in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region was sentenced to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property for aiding the aggressor state.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, he was also banned from holding positions in state authorities, local self-government and other senior positions for 15 years.

According to the investigation, in August 2022, the convict voluntarily agreed to head an illegally created medical institution of the occupation administration — the so-called «Aleshki Central District Hospital». He facilitated its re-registration under Russian law and integration into the system of medical institutions of the aggressor state.

In addition, the convict was engaged in anti-Ukrainian propaganda, forced his subordinates to participate in rallies in support of the Russian Federation, and organised the removal of hospital property to the village of Kalanchak.

Earlier, a deputy of the Kakhovka district council in Kherson region was found guilty of collaboration and sentenced to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
