Renovation of Lyceum №3 shelter continues in Mykolaiv: ₴27 million has already been spent on the work

The reconstruction of Lyceum №3 in Mykolaiv, which began in 2024, is continuing. The total cost of the project is 51 million hryvnias.

This was announced by Oleksii Savchuk, head of the City Council's Capital Construction Department, during a briefing, according to NikVesti.

According to him, the project involves deepening the basement, strengthening the structures and external concreting.

«Reconstruction of the shelter at Lyceum №3. This is a subsidised project, which involves deepening the basement, strengthening the structures and external concreting. Due to the fact that the building is located at the level of the basement on one side and almost at the level of the first floor on the other, additional work was needed to protect the structures,» said Oleksii Savchuk.

It should be noted that the cost of the project is 51 million 244 thousand 674 hryvnias. In 2025, 27 million 326 thousand 565 hryvnias were spent on the work.

«The total cost of the project is 51 million hryvnias. Work began in 2024, and in 2025, work worth 27 million hryvnias has already been completed. Work is currently ongoing. As I said earlier, we have already prepared applications for the funds that were not used in 2025 and are submitting them to the Ministry, as these projects, which have already been started, are being prioritised. Therefore, this year we expect to receive a subsidy and further funding for this project,» concluded Oleksii Savchuk.

In September 2024, it became known that part of the basement of Lyceum №3 in Mykolaiv was to be converted into a shelter. The work was then estimated at 35.8 million hryvnias.

The contractor was supposed to complete the shelter in part of the lyceum's basement by 31 January 2025. According to the tender documentation, the work included general construction work, water supply and drainage, replacement of existing plumbing networks in the basement, heating and ventilation, electrical work, a lift for people with reduced mobility, the adaptation of premises for people with special needs, as well as a fire alarm and emergency notification system.
