Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych stated that there are currently no funds in the budget for routine and major road repairs.
He said this during a session of the Mykolaiv City Council on 26 February, according to NikVesti.
It should be noted that after this winter, deep potholes appeared on the roads due to the effects of freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing reagents that were poured onto the asphalt surface.
Recently, Vitalii Shevchenko, director of the municipal enterprise ELU Avtodorig, commenting on the condition of the roads, said that due to weather conditions, patch repairs would not be carried out on a large scale for another month. In addition, the enterprise received about 80 million hryvnias less than expected from the budget.
During the session, the mayor noted that the budget only has 20 million hryvnias exclusively for patching roads for the entire year. However, he compared the roads in Mykolaiv with the condition of the roads in Kyiv, adding that their condition after winter is the worst.
«The Mykolaiv budget has zero hryvnias for current and capital repairs,» said the mayor.
We will remind you that during the recent ice storm, employees of the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks reported that they used 22,700 kilograms of anti-icing mixture to treat sidewalks and pedestrian areas.
