On 22 April, the annual BSNU Hackathon was held at Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University. 66 students from the Faculty of Computer Science formed 16 teams and spent five hours creating their own digital projects.
This was reported by NikVesti.
Participants developed projects on «digital» Mykolaiv region, aimed at the region’s development in various fields, including:
-
apps to support veterans after the war;
-
services to support students in their job search;
-
platforms for finding interesting venues in Mykolaiv;
-
interactive maps of emergency alerts and shelters.
Tournament organiser Anna Sadova noted that the theme of a ‘digital’ Mykolaiv region is highly relevant.
«The BSNU Hackathon is an annual event organised by our faculty. This year, 16 teams — comprising 66 participants — took part. We chose the theme «Digital Mykolaiv Region: solutions for recovery, security and improving quality of life», as it is highly relevant today. Our partners — representatives of the regional military administration, banks and IT companies — supported this very theme. The hackathon lasts one day: students create their own projects — these can be games, apps, websites and so on,» said Anna.
The format of the projects was open: teams could develop games, websites or mobile apps. They were given five hours to bring their ideas to life. Once the work was complete, the participants presented their projects to the jury: each team had three minutes to showcase their creations.
According to the results of the competition, first place went to the «Shariki» team, second place to «Global$lime» and «Coders», and third place to «ATB pink», «Commit&Pray» and «Pliotchnyky».
All participants received prizes from the partners and the Faculty of Computer Science itself.
