Residents of the Lisky neighbourhood in Mykolaiv are asking the local council to arrange for the grass to be cut in the park near the blocks of flats on Sportyvna Street.
A local resident, Viktoriia Shchukina, posted a request to this effect on the Mykolaiv City Council’s Contact Centre.
According to her, the grass in the park has grown significantly, making it difficult for residents to walk around, take their children for a walk, or walk their pets.
«The grass has already grown almost knee-high and has long been in need of mowing. Because of this, it is inconvenient for pedestrians to move around and for people to walk with children and pets,» the appeal states.
The woman also pointed out that, due to the tall grass, residents are concerned about the presence of ticks and other insects.
In a comment to NikVesti, the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks» reported that work on this site is scheduled to begin on 8 June.
«Work is planned for this area. We will start work at this address from 8 June,» the company said.
Previously reported: Residents of Mykolaiv are complaining about overgrown grass in the areas around their homes and on playgrounds in various parts of the city. Residents are asking the municipal services to mow the weeds, clear away rubbish and tidy up the courtyards.
