From next year, British Eurofighter fighters will patrol the airspace of Poland.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the country, Vladyslav Kosyniak-Kamysh, after a meeting with his British counterpart, John Gilley, TVP reports.
Władysław Kosyniak-Kamysh reported that Warsaw and London agreed on a declaration to send 4-6 Eurofighter fighters next year as part of the Baltic Air Policing mission to patrol Polish airspace.
He added that a reconnaissance detachment of engineering and technical troops will also be sent to the eastern border of Poland with Belarus, which will inspect and make decisions on supporting the «Eastern Shield» program.
«We have the same approach to security in Europe and around the world. Poland and Great Britain are united in the defense of democracy and freedom,» the government official said.
It will be recalled that on Sunday, July 21, an air crash of a Prząśniczka J1B light aircraft occurred in Poland. As a result of the accident, the 75-year-old pilot died.
