The Danish Refugee Council handed over 133 units of household appliances to a dormitory for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Mykolaiv.
This is reported by the Mykolaiv Development Agency.
As you know, the renovation of a dormitory for forced migrants has been completed in Mykolaiv. About 200 people who lost their homes due to the great war will be able to accommodate there.
In particular, the organization transferred microwave ovens, gas stoves, irons and ironing boards, dryers, kettles, as well as a Smart TV to the future recreation room.
«The equipment of the premises was an important aspect of the preparation of the dormitory. Recently, the Danish Refugee Council handed over 133 household appliances. This will significantly improve living conditions for people who lost their homes due to the war,» the press service reports.
We remind you that this is not the only dormitory in Mykolaiv intended for internally displaced persons. Ten rooms have already been renovated in one of them, and the other building is in the queue for renovation. Note that more than 47,500 IDPs are currently registered in Mykolaiv.
As the mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych said, some of them rent housing, some live with relatives. But there are people who need support from the city.
Taking into account the large number of displaced people in the city, it is obvious that there are not enough resources to provide housing for all of them. However, thanks to international organizations, this problem is gradually beginning to be solved.
We will remind you that in the village of Shevchenkove, Mykolaiv Oblast, a place for temporary residence of IDPs is being built in the premises of the hospital, which was damaged as a result of a Russian airstrike.
