In Mykolaiv, managers of defense enterprises and a limited liability company were notified of suspicion of property embezzlement due to abuse of official position.

This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Southern region.

According to the investigation, in January 2021, a contract was concluded between defense and commercial enterprises on the provision of services for the modernization of stands for control and passing tests of engines and turbogenerator.

In the period from January to September 2021, the businessman did not complete the above-mentioned works in order to illegally seize budget funds. After that, he drew up and provided, and the director of the defense enterprise signed and certified with a seal the act of acceptance and transfer of the completed works, which included false information regarding the overestimation of the scope of the completed works.

The actions of the managers of the enterprises caused material losses to the state in the amount of more than 2 million hryvnias.

Currently, the suspects are preparing a petition to the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention and seizure of property.

We would like to remind you that in 2023, the number of registered criminal proceedings in the field of defense increased threefold in the Mykolaiv region. Last year, the special prosecutor's office sent 412 indictments to the court, 9 of them in the field of corruption.
