Law enforcement officers of Transcarpathia exposed a resident of the city of Rakhiv who tried to smuggle a 35-year-old man across the border.
This is reported by the State Border Service.
A man tried to ferry a conscript from Ukraine to Romania across the Tisza River.
As noted in the press service, the ferryman was repeatedly noticed by the border guards as an organizer of tobacco smuggling. In addition, in 2018, his brother was sentenced to 15 years for the murder of Vadym Berezenskyi, the head of the Dilove border service department.
«With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the smuggler «requalified» as a smuggler of people across the border,» the report added.
The man was detained at the moment of handing over money for a service in the amount of 2,300 US dollars. He was accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine «Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine."
We will remind how a group of men tried to swim across the Tisza on inflatable tubes for tires.
