The Central District Court of Mykolaiv chose a precautionary measure against a resident of the Kherson region, who is suspected of collaborating with the occupiers.

This was reported by the press service of the court.

According to the investigation, a 45-year-old man, who is undergoing military service under mobilization, agreed to take the position of inspector in one of the correctional colonies created by the local «administration» during the occupation of Kherson Region.

«In his position, he supervised detained persons, ensured the regime of the institution, that is, he contributed to the establishment and functioning of the system of execution of punishments of the aggressor country,» the press service added.

After considering the petition, investigating judge Volodymyr Liashchenko decided to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention without determining the amount of the bail against the suspect.

At the court hearing, the prosecutor noted that the man is suspected of committing a particularly serious criminal offense. He believes that risks can be prevented only by choosing an exclusive preventive measure. The suspect and the defense attorney opposed this decision.

It is noted that the man is suspected of having committed the offense provided for in Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

We will remind you how the Central Court of Mykolaiv took into custody four residents of Kherson, who are suspected of spreading information about the movement and location of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
