At the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, one of the lines supplying power to the plant was once again disconnected.

This was reported by «Energoatom».

«Today, May 23, 2024, at 1:31 p.m., the external overhead line PL-750 kV «Dniprovska», connecting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP with the United Energy System of Ukraine, was disconnected. Currently, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe is connected to the Ukrainian power system only by the PL-330 kV Zaporizhzhia TPP — Ferosplavna power transmission line, the message says.

If this line also fails, another complete blackout will occur at the ZNPP, which is a serious violation of the conditions of safe operation of the plant and threatens the development of an accident.

It was previously reported that for the first time since the end of 2022, all six power units of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, temporarily occupied by the Russians, were put into a «cold shutdown» state.
