As a result of the massive missile attacks of the Russian Federation in recent weeks, 80% of the thermal power plants in Ukraine were destroyed. The authorities are looking for equipment to repair power facilities.
This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in an interview with ERR.
«Unfortunately, Russia continues its energy terror — in the last few weeks alone, the Russians have destroyed more than six gigawatts of our energy grid's capacity. These are both hydropower and coal power. They (occupiers) continue to hit our energy facilities with rockets, destroy transformers, generators. «Unfortunately, Russia has destroyed 80 percent of thermal power plants in recent weeks,» the head of government said.
Estonia has old Soviet-type equipment, and Ukraine would very much like to receive these spare parts, which will make it possible to repair power plant blocks damaged by shelling, he noted.
Earlier, the Deputy Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrynchuk, emphasized that, despite this, the blackout will not be implemented across the entire territory of Ukraine.
We will remind, in case of strikes by the Russian army, the power industry of the Mykolaiv region is provided with the materials and equipment necessary to eliminate the consequences of shelling.
