The spring massive Russian attacks caused damage to Ukraine's energy industry in the amount of more than one billion dollars.

This was announced by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko on the telethon «Edyni Novyny».

«The system is currently stable, but one must understand that the situation is quite complicated. As for damages, today it is more than 1 billion dollars. But the attacks continue, these losses will increase,» the minister said.

He noted that Russia's current goal is to destroy the shunting power generation in Ukraine, which allows balancing the power system.

Herman Halushchenko added that now, thanks to favorable weather conditions, the energy system can be balanced with the capacities of solar and wind generation. In winter, it will be difficult.

Earlier it was reported that energy experts do not rule out the introduction of hourly blackout schedules in Ukraine. In general, energy experts determined four conditions under which hourly schedules can be introduced throughout the territory of Ukraine.
