UNICEF has allocated ₴1.4 million to install generators in schools in Pervomaisk

In Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region, there are plans to connect generators to the power networks of educational establishments. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has allocated 1.4 million hryvnias for this purpose.

The relevant tender has been published on the ProZorro public procurement system, NikVesti reports.

The client for the works is the Education Department of the Pervomaisk City Council. The connection of generators to the power networks of educational institutions is scheduled to be completed by 20 June 2026.

It is worth noting that, in effect, schools plan to install a backup power system that will automatically switch on the generators during power cuts. This will allow educational institutions to maintain uninterrupted heating, lighting and computer classes even during power outages.

As a reminder, interactive boards from UNICEF have been installed in the «Kazka» children’s town in Mykolaiv. They feature simple tasks that help young children develop speech, self-regulation, motor skills and social skills simply whilst out for a walk with their parents.
