The cost of the two buses will amount to over 7 million hryvnias. The Settlement Council is being asked to allocate 738,000 hryvnias in co-funding.
This was discussed at a meeting of the Domanivka Settlement Council’s budget committee on Tuesday, 3 November, according to NikVesti.
Iryna Zubachevska, head of the finance department, explained that the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration’s Department of Education and Science had approached the settlement council regarding the co-funding of the two buses. As the official explained, the co-funding amount is calculated based on the community’s tax capacity index. The Domanivka Settlement Council is being asked to contribute 10 per cent of the cost of the two buses.
«We were offered such buses before. We replied that we could allocate funds from the budget, but not 50 per cent, not 70 per cent, not 90 per cent, but only 10 per cent. We currently have two buses under a co-financing scheme totalling 738,000 hryvnias,» said the head of the finance department.
Iryna Zubachevska clarified that the buses would cost 3.9 million hryvnias each, and the co-funding for both would amount to 738,000 hryvnias. According to the official, the allocation of funds is being considered as a matter of urgency, as the vehicles must be received by the end of 2026.
«This is funded from the state budget, in accordance with the programme to provide buses for academic lyceums,» added the head of the finance department.
The issue of allocating co-funding for the buses is to be finally considered at a session of the Domanivka Settlement Council.
NikVesti previously reported that in the Mykolaiv region, 315 school buses are used to transport pupils, with a further 31 designated for transporting children in wheelchairs. At the same time, one of the ongoing problems remains the shortage of drivers, who cannot currently be exempted from mobilisation.
