The exhibition-installation «Cities on the Edge» was held in Mykolaiv to commemorate the anniversary of the liberation of Snihurivka and Kherson

On Monday, November 13, the opening of the photo exhibition-installation «Snihurivka, Kherson: Cities on the Edge» took place in a shelter near the Mykolaiv House of Fleet Officers.

The event was timed to the anniversaries of the liberation of the settlements from the Russian occupiers, the NikVesti correspondent reports.

The exhibition featured the works of Mykolaiv photographers Serhii Kononenko and Dmytro Skorokhodov, who managed to film the first days after de-occupation. In total, the exhibition consists of more than 200 photos of Mykolaiv photographers.

— We started preparing for this exhibition a year ago. In the first days, in the literal sense of the word, we traveled with volunteers from the DOF and with the military, helping the Sniguriv district and Kherson. And my two good friends, Dmytro Skorokhodov and Serhiy Kononenko, constantly took the initiative. While the volunteers and I were engaged in handing out, Dima and Serhii were filming the road, taking shots that I didn't have time to pay attention to. So we have accumulated a lot of materials. There are shots when they haven't had time to clean up yet, you're just driving, and there are 6-7 downed Ork units in a row on the road. There are footage of help, footage of human emotions, — said the organizer of the exhibition, Mykolaiv volunteer Volodymyr Alekseev.

In addition to the photos, visitors to the exhibition were shown short thematic videos about the first days after the liberation, which were also created by Mykolaiv photographers.

— We did not publish some photos before for security reasons. Kherson, the square, full of people, the first days, children who danced and laughed, flags, flowers, and then a week later people began to fly there. It's the anniversary and we decided to show you those days right now. The central square of Kherson, those emotions, those faces. And half a year later, we were with Volodymyr Alekseev at the first jazz concert in de-occupied but empty Kherson, — said Dmytro Skorokhodov.

The photo exhibition-installation «Cities on the Edge» in Don can be visited until November 15.
