On Sunday, September 29, about 150 caring residents gathered in the center of Mykolaiv for a rally to express their support for Ukrainian prisoners of war and missing persons.
As the correspondent NikVesti reports, such actions have become regular for the city, as they draw attention to the problem that affects hundreds of families across the country.
The participants called for active actions to return their relatives who are in Russian captivity or are considered missing.
Anna, one of the participants of the action, shared her story with us. She has been waiting for the return of her husband, who is being held in a colony whose location is unknown, for almost two years.
«I am waiting for my husband, who has been in a colony for almost two years, it is not known where. At first I was told that he had died, but I didn't believe it and started looking. Now I know that he is in the colony, but where exactly is unknown. I would like more people to support these actions, because it is important to talk about it and remind the society. The more people come to rallies, the more likely our relatives will return,» said Anna, the wife of one of the prisoners of war.
Nataliia, whose husband disappeared during a combat mission, also shared her story:
«My husband served in the 95th brigade, and for 10 months we have been hoping and waiting for his return. We believe that he is alive, and we go to the actions, because we are their voice. Only through public support and our solidarity can we help them return home. We want all our relatives to return.»
