On Friday, January 13, a meeting of representatives of Denmark and Ukraine took place in Mykolaiv regarding the planning of further reconstruction of the city.
As NikVesti correspondent reported, the meeting was attended, in particular, by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, the Minister of International Development and Global Climate Policy of Denmark Dan Jorgensen, the head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim, the mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych, head of the regional council Hanna Zamazieieva. Representatives of the Danish International Development Fund were also present.
Denmark's Minister of International Development and Global Climate Policy, Dan Jorgensen, noted that last year, Denmark supported Ukraine for approximately 750 million euros, providing 565 million euros in military aid and 192 million in civil, including humanitarian, contributions.
He also promised that Denmark would do everything possible to restore Mykolaiv.
«Denmark will do everything possible together with international partners to support and restore your city. Both now and in the future. We are now focused on the most urgent needs: preparing for winter, water, electricity, shelter, support for adults and children. With my visit, I want to confirm my readiness to talk further about how to strengthen our partnership. I want to understand how Denmark can help you to get back on your feet as best as possible, to flourish again, how to start the economy and move the development of the city forward,» he said.
Dan Jorensen added that the Danes are ready to participate in the development of the new General Plan of Mykolaiv, and that there is already an agreement to create a steering committee headed by him and Oleksandr Kubrakov.

It was also reported that at the end of August, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, and the Minister of International Development of Denmark, Flemming Møller Mortensen , signed a memorandum of cooperation. The memorandum envisages joint work on the formation of reconstruction projects and the involvement of investors from different countries in the restoration of Mykolaiv.
At the beginning of August, the Minister of Development of Denmark announced his readiness to allocate 100 million kroner to Mykolaiv.
