Kuleba in Mykolaiv told when Ukraine will receive Danish F-16 fighters

There is no threat of disrupting the transfer of the F-16 fighter jets promised by Denmark. The leadership of Ukraine is confident that they will appear in the Ukrainian sky in 2024.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba during a briefing in Mykolaiv, NikVesti reports.

In order to receive aircraft, Ukraine must have not only trained pilots, but also the appropriate infrastructure and engineers, the minister explains.

«From time to time there are reports that everything has slowed down, crashed, or is not working in the information space. The main thing is that everyone understands that from the side of the partners participating in the F-16 coalition, the work is going according to plan. They fulfill their commitments, and we are moving towards the set goals. The Russian occupiers will feel the presence of F-16s and the weapons they can carry in the Ukrainian skies», Dmytro Kuleba said.

As you know, in December 2023, the first group of Ukrainian pilots underwent basic training for F-16 flights in Great Britain. These six pilots are currently training to fly fighter jets in Denmark.

We will also remind you that the office of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine was opened in Mykolaiv on January 26. On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Lars Lekke Rasmussen, arrived in the city together with Dmytro Kuleba.

The beginning of Denmark's cooperation with Mykolaiv

The memorandum envisages joint work on the formation of reconstruction projects and the involvement of investors from various countries in the restoration of Mykolaiv.

In January 2023, a meeting of representatives of Denmark and Ukraine took place in Mykolaiv regarding the planning of further restoration of the city.

On July 3, the Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark announced a new aid package for the Mykolaiv region.

In September, after a meeting with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the opening of the office of the Danish Embassy in Ukraine in Mykolaiv.
