During the full-scale war in Ukraine, the number of people living in the Snihurivka community decreased by 7-8 thousand people. Such figures were announced by the head of the Snihurivka city military administration, Ivan Kukhta, in an interview for ZN.ua.
Before the start of the full-scale invasion, according to official data, about 23 thousand residents lived in the territorial community. Now, according to Ivan Kukhta, there are approximately 15,000 to 16,000 people left in the community.
«The demographic situation is complex. About 7-8 thousand residents did not return to their communities. These are residents who were able to find work somewhere outside the territorial community. Those who have children have been sent to educational institutions in different parts of our country, where the security situation allows. At the same time, active and proactive middle-aged and younger people often left — these are people we really, really need in the territorial community for its restoration,» said Ivan Kukhta.
He noted that Snihurivka needs people who will «work, pay taxes and thereby contribute to its restoration.»
«But we try to do everything with the number of people we currently have. We are trying to do our best so that people who do not currently live in the territorial community see that the community is being restored and want to return,» said Ivan Kukhta.
It was previously reported that the Snihurivka territorial community is the most littered with explosive objects in Mykolaiv region.
