Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych told the details of his visit to Washington.
In particular, he reported that he had a dozen different meetings where he talked about Mykolaiv and how the city lives during a full-scale invasion.
«At the invitation of the host party, he took part in the Transatlantic Dialogue «Strong Cities», where he spoke before mayors from Europe and North America,» the mayor wrote.
He noted that at the Washington City Hall during the «Doing Business in Ukraine» Conference, he talked about help in establishing partnerships between the communities of Ukraine and the United States of America, as well as about the peculiarities and differences in the work of municipalities.
«Why is it important? I emphasize once again that the more we tell the world about Mykolaiv, the more they know about us and want to build business relations with us. The Russian terrorist spends a lot of money on the production of disinformation, that's why such meetings are a chance to tell the truth about what is happening in Ukraine,» said Oleksandr Sienkevych.
In addition, the mayor also talked about the positive experience of interaction with the Kingdom of Denmark, presented the Mykolaiv Master Plan, and also raised the issue of the lack of drinking water in the city.
«We need to continue building new acquaintances that will turn into partnerships for our community. Thank you to the US government for the constant support and strengthening of Ukraine,» the mayor added, noting that «not a penny from the city's budget was spent on business trips.»
We will remind you that the conference «Doing Business in Ukraine», which was attended by the mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych, was held on September 25 in Washington. The conference was organized by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov, Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boichenko and others spoke alongside Sienkevych.
