The Forum considered the consequences for local authorities of various sections of the Covenant. The first session was devoted to sustainable development and financing of urban development. The second is the issue of peace, security, science, technology, innovation and digital cooperation. The third session focused on youth, future generations and the transformation of global governance. The last, fourth, session was aimed at coordinating the statements of the mayors regarding the future of the cities.
The forum provided a platform for sharing experiences between cities on issues of climate neutrality, sustainability and citizen engagement in policy development.
As part of the mayors' forum, on September 30, UNECE opened the UN4UkrainianCities exhibition «Rebuilding the future in Kharkiv and Mykolaiv» at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
