In Kherson, the municipal target program «Ecology» for 2024-2026 was approved.

The relevant order No. 895 signed by the head of Kherson MBA Roman Mrochko, they write NikVesti.

Among the ecological problems of the Kherson community, the program lists the clogging and pollution of the territory as a result of the destruction, occupation and undermining by the Russians of the Kakhovka HPP, the lack of a modern waste management system, the need for reclamation of the city landfill, spontaneous landfills, preservation and protection of natural resources, and others.

The «Ecology» program includes a list of measures: the development of a strategy for «zero waste», the arrangement of a site to ensure the secondary sorting of waste from destruction, the development of a local waste management plan, the installation of a line for the sorting of individual fractions of household waste at the expense of the European Union, measures for the landscaping of the territory other 132,000 hryvnias are needed to implement the program this year alone, the document says.

It also states that by the end of the year, within the European Union's LIFE program, experts will develop a waste management strategy for the Kherson community.

Destruction waste in the Mykolaiv region

By the end of 2023, Mykolaiv region is among the six regions most littered with demolition waste: they occupy an area of more than half a million square meters of the region. Currently, part of this waste is stored in landfills, and another part is still at the sites of destruction. This causes damage to the environment of the region: the destruction waste pollutes water, soil, and air. And that is why the question of their professional disposal and reprocessing for the reconstruction of the region arises, the article NikVesti «Raise from the ruins: How are they going to get rid of destruction waste in Mykolaiv Oblast?».

As of the end of November 2023, 57 hectares of the territory of the Mykolaiv region were littered with construction debris created as a result of shelling. At the same time, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of Mykolaiv reported that by the end of 2023, the city should receive a special installation for shredding demolition waste.

During 2023, five temporary storage sites for demolition waste were identified in the Mykolaiv region.

At the same time, on the territory of the Mykolayiv region, they are going to build a plant for the processing of construction waste, which was formed as a result of enemy shelling. It is assumed that the plant will work for the processing of construction waste in two regions: Mykolaiv and Kherson, said the head of the Shevchenkove community Oleh Pylypenko. The Shevchenkove community also wants to deal with the disposal of hazardous demolition waste containing asbestos.

In 2024, Mykolaiv expects to receive equipment for the processing of construction waste, which was formed as a result of Russian shelling of buildings.
