President Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not plan to sign the adopted law on canceling the change of clocks to summer time in Ukraine.

The BBC writes about it with links to its own sources.

It is noted that according to the Law on Time Calculation in Ukraine №4201, developed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, on the last Sunday of October, Ukraine was supposed to switch to winter time and stay on it. However, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not yet signed it.

«The president does not plan to sign it,» says the publication's interlocutor in the President's Office and emphasizes that the deadline for vetoing the law has already passed.

Another interlocutor in the presidential faction also noted that there will be no signature.

«The speaker put forward the idea, this is his idea, so in order not to offend him, there will be no veto, but there will be no signature either,» he says.

According to him, the document will lead to «several billion» losses for the economy, this was confirmed by relevant calculations.

To the arguments against the signing of the law, the interlocutor added petitions against the cancellation of daylight saving time, which were presented by Ukrainians.

If the document is not signed by the president, Ukraine will return to summer time in March.

It was previously reported that on the night of October 27, Ukrainians will switch their clocks to winter time for the last time. After this transition to summer and winter time, there will be no more.

Also, in the summer, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine canceled the change of clocks to summer time. The bill was supported by 261 people's deputies.
