President of Ukraine

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the sixth President of Ukraine, in office since May 20, 2019, and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Before the presidency he was a showman, actor and producer, co-owner of Kvartal-95 Studio and general producer of the Inter TV channel. In October 2026, Zelenskyi announced that strikes on Russian oil refineries would resume and urged Donald Trump to ask Putin for a 60-day ceasefire so that Ukraine could hold elections. The same month he signed laws on education in minority languages and on housing internally displaced people in state and municipal property without auctions, and in September 2026 he suspended Ruslan Kravchenko as Prosecutor General.
