In Ukraine, a warning is provided for the first violation of the language law, and a fine of 3,400 hryvnias for the second violation.

Taras Kremin, the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, stated this on Ranok.LIVE.

The Ombudsman noted that the language situation will change significantly, and maximum sanctions will be applied to violators.

«The law is written in such a way that in the case of the first violation, we have to warn, and in the case of the second language violation, a fine of 3,400 hryvnias is provided for under a specific article,» he said.

The official also commented on the violation of the language law in schools. He emphasized that the concept of a Ukrainian-speaking environment is currently approved at the legislative level.

«Everything that happens on the territory of the institution of general secondary education must be carried out in compliance with the language law, that is, in the Ukrainian language,» the ombudsman added.

Taras Kremin noted that according to the results of research by the state service for the quality of education, teachers are among the violators of the language law in schools, and they admit it.

«Be conscious and responsible, ensure the rights of schoolchildren to study in the Ukrainian language and help the parents of these children master the language and transition. Because the language of communication at home, the language of communication in social networks must be Ukrainian. Let's take care of the future of the Ukrainian state and ensure the implementation of the language law in educational institutions,» says the politician.
