Ukraine will be able to become a member of the European Union within the next five years, subject to the implementation of all necessary reforms.

On October 30, at a press conference in Brussels, the European Commissioner for Good Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Vargei, stated this, reports DW.

According to him, additional tools have been created for Ukraine, Moldova and the countries of the Western Balkans to «help them accelerate the implementation of reforms.»

«These instruments are called «Growth Plan», «Ukraine Plan», depending on the country. And with the help of this plan, we made it possible for the Western Balkans, Moldova, as well as Ukraine to complete the reforms in order to prepare everything and become a member of the EU by the end of the next mandate of the European Commission,» said the European Commissioner.

Earlier, the European Commission for the first time issued a clear public criticism of the telethon and stated that Ukraine should work on restoring a pluralistic media landscape.

We will remind you that the majority of Ukrainians believe that the support of the European Union in the fight against corruption is insufficient, although this direction remains the most relevant for the majority of citizens. According to the survey, 70% of respondents expressed disbelief in the effectiveness of this support, believing that the fight against corruption is the most important reform supported by 74% of respondents.
