The spokesman of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmytro Peskov, denied the information published by the Washington Post that Putin and the newly elected US president had a telephone conversation.

This is reported by the Russian media, including RIA Novosti.

The publication, referring to the words of Dmitry Peskov, indicates that the information about the conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump is false and there are currently no concrete plans for contacts between the two politicians.

According to the spokesman of the Russian president, there is no preparation for contacts with Western leaders, and Moscow allegedly did not receive the appropriate signals.

It will be recalled that earlier the Washington Post, citing its own sources, reported that Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin on November 7. One of the newspaper's interlocutors noted that Trump advised the Russian leader not to escalate the war in Ukraine, recalling the «significant military presence» of the United States in Europe.

We will remind you that Donald Trump Jr., the son of the newly elected US president, published a video on his Instagram mocking the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The video says that Ukraine will lose the support of the United States in 38 days.

Election of the 47th President of the USA

Voting in the presidential elections ended on November 6 in the USA — the last polling stations were closed in Alaska. Even before the official results were announced, Donald Trump declared himself the winner of the election. The Republican received 240 votes, while Democrat Kamala Harris received 213.

During the speech in Florida, Trump already made a number of statements. In particular, he assured that he plans to stop all wars in the world.

A number of country leaders have already congratulated Trump on his victory: French President Emmanuel Macron, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. For the first time, they commented on the results of the US elections in China, expressing hope for further peaceful and mutually beneficial relations.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also congratulated US President Donald Trump on his victory in the elections. He noted that he hopes for the implementation of the «peace through strength» approach for a just end to the war in Ukraine.
