President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian army does not have enough forces to liberate some territories temporarily occupied by Russia.

He stated this in an interview with Kyodo, published on December 2.

The publication writes that Volodymyr Zelenskyy, answering all the questions, admitted that it is difficult to return by force some parts of the country occupied by Russia, including Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.

«Our army does not have enough forces for this. This is true. We must find diplomatic solutions,» he said.

The President of Ukraine said that diplomatic steps can be taken «only when we know that we are strong enough», otherwise Russia may start a new aggression against Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine has every chance to end the war already next year. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects to hear proposals in this regard from the newly elected US leader Donald Trump.
