Zelenskyy is waiting to hear Trump's proposals for ending the war in January

Ukraine has every chance to end the war already next year. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects to hear proposals in this regard from the newly elected US leader Donald Trump.

He said this during the 3rd International Conference on Food Security Grain from Ukraine, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

«I want to see the proposals of the new president of the United States of America. I think we will see these proposals already in January. And I think that we will have a plan to end this war,» said the head of state.

Zelenskyy also reiterated that Kyiv is open to proposals from the leaders of African, Asian and Arab countries.

In his opinion, the Global South will be on the side of Ukraine and «on the side of the end of the war», when the USA will have a «stronger position».

«I am sure that we have every chance to do it (end the war) next year. There are appropriate steps for this... We understand that Russia will not take all these steps. But there is a UN Charter, and all our steps based on the UN Charter will be supported by our partners,» Zelenskyy assured.

In particular, he commented on a possible meeting, noting that it depends on many things, such as the legitimacy of the meeting.

«If we want meetings at which some issues are resolved, then, probably, there should be appropriate legislative possibilities for this, available after the inauguration. If we have certain preparatory meetings, they may be before the inauguration,» noted Zelenskyy.

At the same time, the president emphasized that before the meeting, it is important not to give «an opportunity for one or another wave, one or another environment to quarrel between the president of Ukraine and the president of the United States.» He added that «there are many willing».

In particular, last week the new US President Donald Trump once again made a statement to end the war in Ukraine.

We will remind that a few days after the election, Donald Trump, the youngest son of the newly elected US president, published a video on his Instagram mocking the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The video says that Ukraine will lose the support of the United States in 38 days.
