The new US president, Donald Trump, once again made a statement to end the war in Ukraine.

He said this at a gala event at his Mar-a-Lago residence, CNN cites.

He stated that his administration will «work very hard on Russia and Ukraine.» However, he did not specify exactly how.

«This has to stop. Russia and Ukraine must stop, he said and added: «Regardless of whether it's soldiers or people sitting in the cities.»

Also during the event, Trump joked that things have been going very well in the country since his election, so, they say, his term should be considered as having started on election day, November 5.

«The only thing, Mr. Speaker, I think is important, maybe you should pass a bill — you should start my term on November 5, okay? Or November 6, if you prefer. On November 5, because the market soared to the sky, the enthusiasm has doubled in the last short time,» said the newly elected president.

We will remind you that on November 13, US President Joe Biden received the newly elected President Donald Trump in the White House.

Election of the 47th President of the USA

Voting in the presidential elections ended on November 6 in the USA — the last polling stations were closed in Alaska. Even before the official results were announced, Donald Trump declared himself the winner of the election. The Republican received 240 votes, while Democrat Kamala Harris received 213.

During the speech in Florida, Trump already made a number of statements. In particular , he assured that he plans to stop all wars in the world.

A number of country leaders have already congratulated Trump on his victory: French President Emmanuel Macron, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. For the first time, they commented on the results of the US elections in China, expressing hope for further peaceful and mutually beneficial relations.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also congratulated US President Donald Trump on his victory in the elections. He noted that he hopes for the implementation of the «peace through strength» approach for a just end to the war in Ukraine.

Also, Vice President Kamala Harris called Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory in the presidential elections.

But in Russia, they were in no hurry to congratulate Trump on his victory. The press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmytro Peskov, said that he did not know whether the leader of the new president would welcome them, because «the USA is an unfriendly country.» Later, information about congratulations from Putin appeared. The Washington Post, citing its own sources, reported that Donald Trump spoke by phone with Vladimir Putin on November 7. One of the newspaper's interlocutors noted that Trump advised the Russian leader not to escalate the war in Ukraine, recalling the «significant military presence» of the United States in Europe.

However, spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied the information published by the Washington Post that Putin and the newly elected US president had a telephone conversation.
