President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the United States may consider investing in mining on the Black Sea shelf, which is currently under Russian occupation.
He said this in an interview with The Guardian.
The President stressed that Ukraine has significant resources, particularly in the field of gas and oil production. However, significant mineral deposits are also located on the occupied Black Sea shelf.
«We have gas and oil production inside our country, on the territory we control. But we have a shelf in the Black Sea that is now under occupation. It is our land, and it is a lot of money. Today it is under occupation of Russian mercenaries, the Russian army», the president said.
According to him, such cooperation can be beneficial for all parties.
«Our partners, especially American business. We can develop together, produce and process together. This means jobs for us, income for American companies, for Americans, for Ukrainians, for Europeans. We are very open, but we need to talk about it in detail», Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
It should be noted that the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, said that Ukraine had agreed to provide Washington with access to rare earth minerals worth $500 billion.
Earlier, Donald Trump said that he would like to conclude a deal under which Ukraine would supply the US with rare earth minerals needed for electronics production in exchange for US aid.
However, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz criticised Donald Trump's proposal to provide Ukraine with military assistance in exchange for its minerals.
