US President Donald Trump, after an altercation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, ordered the National Security Staff to check whether Washington could completely or temporarily stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.

The Wall Street Journal reports this with reference to a senior US administration official.

The newspaper reports that the American leader has now taken a wait-and-see attitude — he plans to observe the further actions of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Trump gave the order after an altercation with Zelenskyy at the White House on 28 February.

Other media outlets reported similar information. For example, a senior official told The Washington Post that the Trump administration was considering such a possibility.

The New York Times also reported, citing a Trump administration official, that they may cut off further indirect support for Ukraine, including other types of military funding, intelligence sharing, and military training.

Earlier, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said in an interview with Fox News that the administration of US President Donald Trump no longer intends to fund the warin Ukraine.
