People's deputy Ihor Kopytin met with American diplomat Kurt Walker and discussed the issue of financial aid to Ukraine.
This was announced by the People's Deputy on Facebook.
Kurt Volker assured Ihor Kopytin that he is doing everything possible to help Ukraine.
«Mr. Volker once held the position of the US State Department's special representative for Ukraine, participated in negotiations with the Russian Federation in 2017. He has enough information to understand all the challenges and problems we face in the fight against Russia. One of the issues that is particularly acute now and is a matter of life and death for us is the adoption by the US Congress of a bill on the allocation of financial aid to Ukraine in the amount of more than 60 billion dollars. And Mr. Walker understands this perfectly. I received an assurance from him that he is on our side and is doing everything he can to ensure that aid to Ukraine continues. In addition, Kurt Volker shared an insider that soon we will receive long-range «gifts» for the enemy,» said the People's Deputy.
Ihor Kopytin and the American diplomat also discussed the bill on mobilization, as well as the situation with procurement for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
«Today we will start working with the amendments submitted by our colleagues. We are talking about thousands of initiatives and proposals. I assured Mr. Volker that together with colleagues we are working to ensure that he is fair and takes into account the requests of society. The situation in the Armed Forces was not overlooked either. The new commander-in-chief has launched an audit aimed at identifying weaknesses and working on them. They agreed that as a result this should improve the state of affairs. In general, the conversation turned out to be constructive and, I am sure, will have a number of relevant results in the future. We agreed to keep in touch. He thanked Kurt Walker for all his efforts and help to Ukraine. We continue to work,» he added.
Earlier, Ihor Kopytin noted that he had received many messages and comments regarding the draft law on mobilization proposed by the Cabinet of Ministers. According to him, the most controversial issues are the mobilization and demobilization of persons who have relatives with disabilities.
