The Netherlands is not opposed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine using F-16 fighters, which the country will hand over to them, to attack military facilities on Russian territory.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Hanke Bruins Slot, at a meeting with colleagues in Prague, writes Radio Svoboda.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands noted that, according to Article 51 of the UN Charter, Ukraine has the right to self-defense, in particular, this includes the possibility of using Western aircraft over the territory of the Russian Federation.
The Netherlands will not impose restrictions on the Defense Forces in the matter of hitting targets in Russia with F-16 fighter jets, which the country has promised to hand over to Ukraine, the minister said.
«If you have the right to self-defense, there are no limits to the use of weapons... This is a general principle,» she said.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine can use weapons provided by Germany to defend against Russian attacks in the border area around Kharkiv.
