The authorities of Ochakiv are seeking someone who will provide them with money for a tourist center: ₴4 million is needed.

In Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region, they plan to open a tourist information center. Currently, the city authorities are looking for a donor to fund the work.
The relevant project was published on the website of the state system DREAM by the authorities of the city of Ochakiv, which is located about 5 kilometers by the sea from the occupied Kinburn Spit, as reported by NikVesti.
The initiator of the project is indicated as the Ochakiv City Council. The cost of the work is currently estimated at 4 million hryvnias, and the duration of the work is two years.
They want to open the tourist center in a non-residential building on Zinchenko Oleksii Street, 136. It is planned to reconstruct it and make it resemble a tower with an observation deck.
Around the building, they plan to lay pavement, create parking spaces for six cars, organize a relief system for rainwater drainage. The project also takes into account the needs of people with disabilities.
Tourism in Mykolaiv region
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Mykolaiv Oblast has lost 7 million hryvnias in tourist tax.
The total indirect losses of the culture, tourism, and sports sectors of Mykolaiv Oblast amounted to approximately 333 million dollars. At the same time, in Mykolaiv Oblast, due to military actions in the first half of 2023, the tourist tax decreased by 72%.
The State Tourism Development Agency has updated the list of «Tourist attractions of Ukraine». It includes 170 significant tourist places, 8 of which are located in Mykolaiv Oblast.
In 2023, the head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, announced that the tourist season in Mykolaiv Oblast would take place partially, as there were still dangerous areas in the region. Later, he stated that recreation near internal water bodies in Mykolaiv Oblast was not in high demand as local businesses couldn't even break even.
Last year, former Ukrainian MP Hennadii Zadyrko, who currently serves as a private soldier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was outraged that businesses that had stopped due to the full-scale war continued to collect tens of thousands of hryvnias in taxes.
At the same time, the deputy director of the Mykolaiv branch of the National Environmental Center of Ukraine, environmental activist Inna Tymchenko, warned of the potential destruction of the unique nature of Velyka Ukrainska Kosa in Tylihulskyi Lyman due to unorganized tourism. At that time, the opening of the sports and recreational zone «Tiligul Club» located in the village of Ukrayinka, Koblivska territorial community, Mykolaiv Oblast, was announced.
