Ochakiv is a city in Mykolaiv District of Mykolaiv Oblast and the administrative centre of Ochakiv urban hromada.

Once a resort, Ochakiv is now a frontline town: the Kinburn Spit, held by the enemy, lies 3.5 kilometres away. On 14 July 2026 Russian forces hit the city with Tornado-S rockets near the hospital, wounding eight people. About 65% of the water supply and sewerage networks are in a state of disrepair, and deaths outnumber births four to one. As of January 2026, the mayor of Ochakiv is Serhii Bychkov.
