During the shelling of Ochakiv with multiple launch rocket systems on 14 July, utility workers who were on duty in the town at the time were injured.

This was reported by Oleksii Vaskov, deputy mayor of Ochakiv, according to NikVesti.

«Today, Ochakiv came under quite heavy shelling from multiple launch rocket systems. Unfortunately, there are casualties and the wounded, including among our utility workers who are working in the city,» said Oleksii Vaskov.

He also reported that the town hospital had been hit and urged residents not to ignore air-raid sirens.

«Our enemy is very treacherous, and we must stop hoping that they will only target military installations or anything else — we must rid ourselves of that notion. Today’s shelling has shown that the enemy is targeting the civilian population. The enemy shelled our hospital today. That is why I am still urging everyone to respond to air-raid sirens. This applies particularly to people who are out on the streets. Use shelters and seek out relatively safe places during an air-raid alert,» he said.

Separately, the deputy mayor appealed to parents, asking them not to leave their children unsupervised during air raid alerts.

«I would particularly like to draw attention to the fact that recently there have been quite a lot of children and teenagers in the city without parental supervision, especially in the evenings. We have an order from the military commander of Ochakiv stating that gatherings of people are prohibited. I therefore ask parents to respond to air raid alerts and ensure that children and teenagers are not left unattended on the streets, particularly in the evenings. Please look after your own safety and theirs,» said Oleksii Vaskov.

As a reminder, on 14 July, Russian forces fired two missiles from a «Tornado-С» multiple launch rocket system at Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region. Eight people were injured; five of the casualties were hospitalised, whilst three others received medical treatment at the scene.
