At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ochakiv city authorities assisted banks in collecting cash and ensuring the operation of ATMs.
This was reported by Ochakiv Mayor Serhii Bychkov during questioning at the Zavodskyi District Court on 12 February, according to NikVesti.
Serhii Bychkov is a witness in criminal proceedings against his adviser, former Ochakiv City Council official Eduard Shevchenko, who is accused of high treason.
During the court hearing, the defendant asked his former boss to describe what he was doing at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022. In response, Serhii Bychkov said that together they helped banks with the physical transportation of cash and filling ATMs in Ochakiv.
«We delivered pensions, humanitarian aid, and collected cash. It was me, Eduard Hryhorovych, and some other people who shouldn't be here. They helped us do this. Personally, with Eduard Hryhorovych, we collected funds from banks in Mykolaiv, because there was no one else to deliver funds to pensioners and fill ATMs in Ochakiv. This went on for several months, and the banks turned to us. Eduard Hryhorovych was awarded a weapon, and he had it with him. We transported the collectors to Ochakiv and back,» said the mayor.
We will remind you that the mayor of Ochakiv came for questioning on 12 February in the case of treason by his subordinate Eduard Shevchenko.
