Heating and hot food points: Mykolaiv prepares to provide assistance to the homeless

In Mykolaiv, a plan of measures to provide assistance to homeless persons in the autumn-winter period was approved.

The corresponding decision was approved at the meeting of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The city will organize the operation of points of heating, hot meals and distribution of warm things at the following addresses:

• Kruhova Street, 47 (CU «Center for Reintegration of Homeless Persons»),
• Kuznetska Street, 83,
• 12 Pozdovzhna street, 50-A,
• Metalurgiv Street, 8/4,
• 19-A Shevchenko Street (City Territorial Center of Social Services (provision of social services),
• Vesnyane village, Ochakivska street, 1-B (Charity organization «Mykolaiv center of social rehabilitation «Recovery»).

They will open when the yard will be below -5 degrees of frost. Hot food will be distributed from 10:00 to 11:00 and from 14:00 to 15:00. In order for the homeless to learn about the points, advertisements are posted in markets, train stations and public transport.

A heating point will also be prepared for homeless people at the address: the square «Liberation of the city of Mykolaiv from the German-fascist invaders» on Bogoyavlenskyi avenue, from Myru avenue to Budivelnikiv street, (Charitable organization «Mykolaiv Center for Social Rehabilitation «Recovery»).

This heating point will be connected to the electricity supply. Two bio-toilets will be installed there, which will be washed by utility workers. In addition, if necessary, medical assistance will be provided there.

If the temperature drops to -10 degrees below zero, additional heating points will be deployed across the city.

Earlier it was reported that with the beginning of the full-scale war in Mykolaiv, the number of homeless people increased.

We will remind that all 27 «Points of Invincibility», deployed on the territory of Mykolaiv, accommodate a total of about 15 thousand people.
